The experience

Participants sat in a virtual hospital room facing a mirror and completed small tasks such as eating an apple, drinking water and taking medicine. After a set interval, a doctor entered and delivered randomly assigned good or bad news. The experience ended with a fade to black, followed by a questionnaire about how participants felt.

02 /

My contribution

Prepared the complete experience flow and implemented object interactions using an imported VR library. Integrated the environment, character model and scripted sequence in Unity/C#, then ran experiment sessions and managed participants.

03 /

Avatar integration and IK

Imported a purchased character model and debugged skeletal and inverse-kinematics behaviour to make movement and interactions coherent. Worked iteratively with a contracted 3D modeller to adjust the model and resolve integration issues.

04 /

Research delivery

Supported the practical delivery of the study: running the experience, managing participants and administering post-experience feedback forms. The project connected software implementation with the day-to-day work of conducting participant sessions.

Documentation context

This account is reconstructed from my recollection of the 2018–2019 internship. Original screenshots are unavailable. The cover and flow diagram are newly created explanatory graphics; the precise research hypothesis and package names are intentionally left unspecified.
